History

Harry James Potter was born on July 31, 1980, in Godric’s Hollow to Lily and James Potter. James Potter's best friend, Sirius Black, was named Harry's godfather. Lord Voldemort killed Harry's parents when he was only a year old and tried to kill Harry as well. However he failed, his curse rebounded on him and he fled, barely alive. He was passed onto his closest living relatives, the Durselys.

For the next ten years, Harry lived a life of emotional abuse and physical deprivation. His Aunt Petunia, Lily's sister, and his Uncle Vernon were determined to squash any magic out of him. They never told him about his true identity. They told him that his parents had died in a car crash, which was also how he got the scar on his head. They doted on their son Dudley, who was a spoiled bully, while making Harry sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. Harry showed signs of magic at a young age but he never realised he was a wizard. His life changed abruptly during the summer of 1991. Strange letters began arriving which frightened his aunt and uncle into fleeing the house and running to hide in a hut on a rock out at sea. In the midst of a huge storm, with waves crashing on the rock, just after midnight, Hagrid arrived on the rock and revealed Harry's own life story to Harry.

Harry came to Hogwarts and on the train formed a friendship with Ron Weasley. After defeating a troll with Ron and Hermione, in his first year, the three became strong friends. Harry also became the youngest seeker in a century in his first year. At the end of that year, Harry came face-to-face with Voldemort and managed to stop him from stealing the Philosophers' Stone. In his second year, the Chamber of Secrets was opened. Harry discovered that he's a Parselmouth. At the end of his second year, he meets Voldemort again, but as a student, and saves Ron's sister Ginny.

Now, he is in his third year at Hogwarts and who knows what this year shall bring ...
